Who is Tri-State Shredding?
Tri-State Shredding specializes in both on-site and off-site document destruction in the Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Lebanon, and surrounding areas.
Why should I shred documents instead of throwing them away?
Throwing documents in the trash or recycling leaves your information vulnerable to identity theft and fraud. Many everyday documents contain personal or financial details that can be misused if they fall into the wrong hands.
Secure shredding destroys documents beyond reconstruction and ensures your information is handled responsibly from start to finish.
Who needs professional shredding services?
Shredding is important for both businesses and individuals.
Businesses use shredding to protect employee records, customer data, financial documents, and proprietary information. Individuals use shredding to safely dispose of tax documents, bank statements, medical paperwork, and other personal records.
If a document contains private information, it should be securely destroyed.
How often should businesses shred documents?
The right schedule depends on how much confidential information your business produces. Many companies choose monthly or bi-weekly service to prevent document buildup and maintain security.
We can recommend a schedule based on your needs.
Are businesses legally required to shred documents?
Many industries are required to securely dispose of confidential information. Laws such as FACTA, HIPAA, and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act require businesses to protect sensitive data and dispose of it properly.
Professional shredding helps organizations stay compliant and reduce the risk of fines, legal issues, and data breaches.
What is NAID AAA Certification?
NAID AAA Certification is the highest level of security in the shredding industry. It confirms that a shredding company follows strict procedures for handling and destroying confidential materials.
Choosing an NAID AAA Certified provider ensures your documents are protected throughout the entire destruction process.
Does Tri-State Shredding supply locking containers for storage of documents until I am ready for a pickup?
Yes, Tri-State Shredding has several containers from which to choose, and all have a paper slot for easy, convenient disposal.
What if I only need to use a shredding service one time?
Tri-State Shredding can help you with a one-time service, or if you need routine shredding, Tri-State Shredding can put you on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.
Do I have to remove rubber bands, staples, paper clips, or other fasteners?
There is no need to remove rubber bands, staples, or paper clips, but any other fasteners will need to be removed for shredding.
Can I watch my documents being shredded?
Yes. With on-site shredding, documents are destroyed at your location while you watch. Many customers appreciate the added peace of mind this provides.
You will also receive a Certificate of Destruction after the service is completed.
Are there any restrictions on the color or type of paper I can place in the shredding security containers?
Sorting is unnecessary; all shredded material is baled and recycled.
Will I be billed at the job?
Tri-State Shredding will send you an invoice in the mail.
Do I receive any documentation after the shredding?
Yes, a certificate of destruction will be provided with the invoice.
A Certificate of Destruction is proof that your documents were securely destroyed. Many businesses keep this document for compliance and audit purposes.
What happens to the paper after shredding?
All shredded paper is sent to recycling facilities. Secure shredding helps protect your information while supporting environmentally responsible practices.
